Our approach to custom period detailing

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

In Principle •
All of our heritage projects require custom period detailing. Whether replicating a Victorian cornice or creating a new custom design that advances the design conversation to today’s standards, all projects are completely customised to room dimensions.

In Practice •
The traditional plaster casting method remains mainly unchanged up to todays date. What has improved, is the 3D moulding process using materials like scanning and rubber to prototype the perfect cast ready for replication.

What you’re seeing here is the incredible handmade process of creating heritage cornices. First, a mold is made using either fiberglass or plastic, which sets the foundation. Then, the team mixes up the wet cornice material, adds fiberglass pieces, and pours it into the mold.

Finally, they shape everything to achieve the perfect thickness and design. It’s all about craftsmanship and attention to detail to bring these beautiful heritage elements to life.
