"This bathroom is part of a renovation of a 150 year old Italianate terrace house in Hawthorn. The intention behind the design was to make the new bathroom feel as if its new bathroom function was occupying an original space rather than the space being changed to become the function.
Items like the stainless steel vanity and the bath feel like something that sits lightly in the space rather than being part of a structural intervention. The house’s plaster details ,arched doors, and curtains are used here with Carrara hexagonal tiles that all help visually link the room with the house’s ‘new heritage’ design intention."
